Like Detroit's Big Three, AMC rapidly understood the importance of the youth market after the success of the Ford Mustang. The new Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake has been revealed ahead of a debut at the Paris Motor Show. When we had the reveal of the new Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake last week we bemoaned the fact that all the UK was getting was a pair of diesel-powered CLS’s. But we did point out, despite nothing official from Mercedes, that there was a good chance they were going to take a camouflaged version of the one petrol powered CLS the UK should eventually get – the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake – to Goodwood at the weekend.
Chrysler has revealed three sketches of new concepts it is scheduled to unveil at the Detroit Auto Show in January. One of these is the Jeep Renegade Concept, a sporty B-segment-sized two-seater the automaker claims is ideally suited for the all-weather delights of off-roading and dune surfing. The design of the vehicle is a futuristic take on the existing open-topped Jeep Wrangler, featuring a cut-down speedster windshield, a roll bar, openings in the door lowers and a hose-out interior.
